This section will help you to configure and set the application in deploying the project to server. It also provides a Deployment Checklist which contains the essential things you need to manage before proceeding to deployment.

Samples and Walkthroughs

This section will provide you information to locate the sample and tutorial files of WebScheduler.NET.

Getting Started with WebScheduler from scratch

In this section, you will be guided on how to get started with WebScheduler for the first time.

Starting from how to bind database to WebScheduler, then configuring view settings, data editing and calendar.

Step 1: Binding database to WebScheduler

First of all, we are going to bind database to WebScheduler. In this step, we have 2 methods of binding architecture such as following:

Binding Access Database to WebScheduler Using ISDataSource

Binding SQL Database to WebScheduler Using ISDataSource

Step 2: Configuring WebScheduler to display variety View settings

There are 7 view settings provided by WebScheduler to be customized according to user needs. All views are accessible in ViewSettings section.

These are the basic things needed to be configured to get started with WebScheduler.

The following screenshot shows that Week view is set as the initial selected view mode and the other views are enabled.

SelectedViewMode and Enabled are the basic properties to be set in order to use the View Settings. For example: To use Day View in WebScheduler, you are required to set SelectedViewMode to Day and Enabled to True.

Step 3: Setting WebScheduler for data editing

After configuring view settings in WebScheduler, we are going to take a further step which is data editing. Using FlyPostBack™ technology, WebScheduler.NET performs data editing with less resource consumption and there is no need to wait so long for page refresh or Postback in order to manipulate or update information to the database, even WebScheduler does not perform FullPostBack at all.

Setting WebScheduler for data editing

  1. Expand DataEditing section.
  2. In DataEditing, set AllowAdd, AllowDelete, AllowEdit, AllowMove and AllowResize to Yes.
  3. When you set AllowEdit to Yes, the WebScheduler Editing Wizard box will appear.
  4. Specify the folder name where the Editing Form is placed. For example: WebScheduler.
  5. It will automatically generate the link in EditingUrl property. For instance: ./WebScheduler/EditingForm.aspx.

 \

Step 4: Using Calendar in WebScheduler

The Calendar is one of the fundamental subcomponent of WebScheduler which plays important roles in the overall features such as navigation, view highlighting and selection. There is no code needed to  synchronize between calendar and WebScheduler.

Here are basic things you can set in calendar:

  1. Expand CalendarSettings.
  2. Set AllowCollapse to True and FirstDayOfWeek to Monday.
